G20 related charges dropped for Mapuche community activist

On September 29, 2010 the Toronto Police arrested Jaroslava Avila, a Political Science student at University of Toronto on G20 related conspiracy charges. She has been under strict conditions of house arrest, including no access to wireless devices and a no public demonstration clause.

Today the Crown announced there were no reasonable grounds to proceed with charges.
This arrest represents the ongoing criminalization of dissent in Toronto and a violation
of basic civil rights. Jaroslava is a long time activist in bringing attention to the struggle of the Mapuche, a valuable contributor to the community.
